Tired? Uncover the Reason Why with This Simple Trick

“Early to bed and early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy, and wise” ~Benjamin Franklin

Are you feeling exhausted? You’re not alone. This sentiment seems to echo everywhere, from the weary words of my children to the lethargic conversations I overhear daily. It’s a widespread issue, and I’ve been there too.

Throughout various stages of my life, fatigue has been a constant companion, though the reasons behind it often remained elusive. But why does this happen? Common culprits include:

  • Inadequate sleep
  • Dehydration
  • Medical conditions such as anemia, low thyroid, or diabetes
  • Depression
  • Lack of exercise

I’ve experienced many of these, but the most significant source of my fatigue, surprisingly, was food.

Discovering the Hidden Culprit: Food

In a future post, I’ll delve into which specific foods were draining my energy. For now, it’s crucial for you to identify the dietary culprits in your life. A great way to start is by trying a food elimination diet for a week. Before you begin, make sure to consult with your doctor, especially if you have any pre-existing medical conditions.

Here’s a glimpse into my personal journey: For a week, I ate only brown rice, broccoli, green beans, and chicken. This combination was chosen based on common allergens, which these foods are generally not. An alternative health professional warned me about potential flu-like symptoms during the first four days, but promised a significant improvement afterward.

The challenge was real but so were the results. On the fifth day, my health issues vanished, and I felt incredible. Carefully reintroducing foods, I paid close attention to how each affected me. It was enlightening to see the direct impact of certain foods on my well-being.

Your Mission: Health is Wealth

Your task is to explore elimination diets and, if it feels right, give one a try. Here’s a good starting point for your research: WebMD’s Guide on Allergies and Elimination Diet.
