I Probably Have ADHD… But Here’s Why I’m Not Interested in the Label

Let’s just call it what it is:
I get distracted easily.
I forget things.
I interrupt people when I’m excited.
I lose steam halfway through the task.
I say YES way too quickly.
And if you want to torture me? Make me sit still and wait for something.

Yeah… if someone handed me a clipboard today with an ADHD assessment on it, I’d probably score off the charts.

But here’s the thing:
I’m not interested in the label.
Not because it’s shameful — but because I’ve already found my solution.

And it didn’t come in the form of a diagnosis or a prescription.
It came from understanding my STRENGTHS.

The World Taught Me I Was “Too Much”. But CliftonStrengths Helped Me See I’m Wired for Something Different

When I first took the CliftonStrengths assessment, I wasn’t looking for a fix.
I was looking for insight.
And what I got?
Was a full-blown permission slip to stop trying to be someone I’m not — and start building a life around who I am.

Here were my top 5:

  • Strategic

  • Ideation

  • Learner

  • Activator

  • Futuristic

Wanna know what all five of those have in common?
They’re fast.
They’re mental.
They’re driven by curiosity, possibility, energy, and movement.
They are NOT quiet, steady, wait-your-turn strengths.

They are DO-ers. THINK-ers. JUMP-ers.
They’re why I get bored. Why I change my mind. Why I go from zero to launch in a matter of hours.
They’re also why I can light a fire under people, make bold decisions, and see a vision before most people even notice there’s a problem.

You’re Not Broken. You’re Wired for a Different Kind of Impact.

Look — I’m not anti-diagnosis. I’m not anti-meds.
But I am pro-self-awareness.

Because before you go down the road of fixing something, ask yourself:
What if this isn’t a flaw? What if it’s just who I am?
And more importantly…
What if I could work with it instead of against it?

This Summer, You Can Find Out.
