Let me tell you something I wish someone had told me in my 20s:
You can be grateful for what you have and still reach for more.
You can dream of something bigger while still loving where your feet are planted today.
In fact? That’s the sweet spot.
Gratitude isn’t about settling or staying small.
It’s about strengthening your roots so you can grow taller.
So you can reach for your vision without losing your grounding.
The Myth: Gratitude Means You Should Be Content With “Enough”
Maybe you’ve heard this before:
“Be grateful for what you have!”
And while yes, gratitude is powerful, sometimes that phrase makes us feel guilty for wanting more.
But here’s the truth:
Gratitude and vision are not opposites.
They’re teammates. They fuel each other.
Gratitude keeps you grounded in the now.
Vision helps you stretch into your next.
Together? They create a life that’s rich, real, and beautifully aligned.
How to Practice Gratitude + Vision Together
Here’s one of my favorite practices—a little morning ritual you can try this week:
Step 1: Write 3 things you’re grateful for right now.
Keep them small and specific. A warm cup of tea. A text from a friend. The fact that you made your bed.
Step 2: Write 3 things you’re excited to call in next.
A future goal, a dream job, a more peaceful mindset, or the kind of relationship you’re ready to attract.
Step 3: Close your eyes and hold both.
Breathe in what’s already good.
Breathe out your trust in what’s coming.
This is where the magic happens.
Why This Combo Works
It keeps your energy aligned with abundance, not lack.
It trains your brain to see progress, not just problems.
It helps you receive life with open hands, while still creating with purpose.
And on those days when your vision feels far away? Gratitude brings you back to what’s still true. What’s still working. What’s still yours.
Try This Mini Mantra
✨ “I am grateful for what is.
I am open to what’s next.
And I trust that both belong in my story.” ✨
Don’t be afraid to hold both—gratitude and longing, presence and purpose.
You’re not being ungrateful for dreaming.
You’re just a soul with roots and wings.
Keep growing. Keep loving. Keep becoming.
