Let me ask you a simple but surprisingly powerful question:
What’s your favorite color?
Not what used to be your favorite color when you were six…
I mean right now. Today.
The color that makes your soul exhale when you see it.
The one that looks good on you, feels right in your space, and somehow reflects who you really are.
For me?
That color is blue.
How I Discovered My Color Story
It started with a compliment.
Every time I wore blue—navy, cobalt, soft denim—someone would say, “That color looks great on you!”
(Clue #1: The world often mirrors back what lights you up.)
Then I started to notice how I felt when I wore blue.
Grounded. Confident. Calm. Seen.
And, perhaps most tenderly of all, blue is the color of my husband’s eyes.
And of the sapphire-and-diamond ring he gave me when we got engaged.
Since then, blue has become more than just a color—it’s a part of me.
I have a blue car. Blue throw pillows. Blue notebooks. Blue dishes. Even a blue water bottle!
(Of course, I blend it with warm earth tones, pops of red, and touches of orange—because too much blue can feel a little too…oceanic.)
Color as an Act of Self-Love
When you start paying attention to what colors make you feel alive, supported, playful, or powerful—you’re actually tuning into a deeper part of yourself.
Your intuition. Your style. Your energy.
And guess what?
Surrounding yourself with your favorite color is one of the simplest, sweetest ways to practice self-love.
It says:
“I know what I like.”
“I see what lights me up.”
“And I choose to bring more of that into my life.”
Even if it’s just a scarf. Or a journal. Or a set of measuring spoons in your signature shade.
So… What’s Your Favorite Color?
Is it a bold, fiery red?
A soft blush pink?
A grounding olive green?
A bright, cheery yellow?
Whatever it is—notice it. Claim it. Wear it. Drive it. Decorate with it.
Because life is short, and color is joy.
Why not surround yourself with what delights you?
Here’s a little invitation:
Go on a “color treasure hunt” today.

Because this life? It’s yours to color.
